東洋エンタープライズ社(Toyo Enterprises)のミリタリーレーベル「Buzz Ricksons バズリクソンズ」のダッフルコート(メンズ ウールメルトン ミリタリーロングコート)です。

本製品は、第二次世界大戦時に英海軍(ロイヤルネイビー)で採用されるようになった初期型ダッフルコートを再現した復刻モデルです。

サイズは日本サイズです。シルエットはスリムすぎずル-ズすぎない適度な身幅のモダンフィットスタイルに再構築され、スタイリッシュにご着用いただけますようにデザインされています。

本体はウール90%、ナイロン10%の、高密度でしっかりとしたヘビーウェイトメルトン生地です。英海軍(ロイヤルネイビー)で採用された初期型同様に裏地の付かないモデルです。しっかりとしたボリューム感のあるメルトン生地で、化学繊維のナイロンを混紡することにより、天然繊維100%の素材に比べて型崩れしにくくなっていて、冬場には風を防いでくれ保温性もあります。着込むほどに生地が馴染み風合いを増していきます。内側の縫い目は補強のためにパイピングで覆われた丁寧な仕上げです。

フロントは3つの木製トグルボタンと縄ループで開閉でき、手袋をしたままでも開閉しやすいようにされています。

フードにはフード開口を調整するためのスナップボタンが付けられています。

左フード襟裏にはボタンホール付きのネックストラップが付属されています。右フード襟裏には対になるネックストラップ用ボタンが付けられボタン留めが可能です。必要に応じてネックストラップを使用することで首元を冷たい風から守ることができます。

負荷のかかるショルダー部分にはもう1枚生地をあてた二重構造補強ショルダーヨーク仕様で、肩の磨耗を防ぐつくりにされています。

袖口は2段階で袖口調節が可能なアジャストボタンタブ付きカフスです。

内側の裾に付いたヘリンボーンツイルのストラップは海風に晒される船上で裾がバタ浮かない様に足を通して着用するためのディテールです。

ダッフルの名前は、ベルギーのアントウェルペン州の町、デュフェル(Duffe)に由来しています。これを英語で発音するとダッフルになります。この町の特産品であるフアスチアン織という綾織の丈夫なウール生地はヨーロッパ各地に輸出されていました。強く縮絨をかけてあるため水が染みにくくクッション性にも優れた生地は爆薬箱の内張に使われるほどでした。本来は北欧の魚民が作業着として着用していたダッフルコートは、手袋をしたままでも開閉できる様にトグルとロープで閉じるというのが基本となっています。トグルは漁に使う「浮き」を流用したものとも言われており、木製なのはそれが理由となっています。フードは寒さから着用者を保護する目的で、頭から被ることで体温が低下するのを防いでくれました。ダッフルコートがイギリス海軍で採用されるようになったのは第二次大戦からであるが、採用までの背景は判然としていません。最初期型の特徴はフロントのトグルが三本となっており、フードには、調整可能のスナップボタンが付いていました。また、内側の裾に付いたストラップは海風に晒される船上で裾がバタ浮かない様、足を通して着用するためのディテールでした。シンプルでありながら防寒性の高い英国軍のダッフルコートは、その後世界中の国々で広く愛用されるようになりました。本製品はその英海軍(ロイヤルネイビー)で第二次世界大戦時に採用されるようになった初期型ダッフルコートを再現した復刻モデルです。

Buzz Rickson Duffel Coat Men's Reproduction of WW2 Navy Duffle Coat BR15164

This long duffel coat is made in Japan and produced by Buzz Rickson ( Buzz Ricksons Buzz Rickson's ) from Toyo Enterprises. The pattern construction of this coat is a reproduction of iconic Navy duffel coat during the WW2. This coat combines all those historical characteristics and details with a modernize fit for a more casual look and fashion purpose. The fabric of this coat is made of a high-density, high-quality, unlined heavyweight melton-wool. And this duffel coat features a knee length, front closure with three wooden toggle buttons and rope loops, integrated hood with press stud for adjustment, neck flap underneath the integrated hood-collar, two external large patch pockets, square shoulder yoke and thigh straps on the inside of the coat. This product is made for Japanese market and made for Japanese clothing sizes. And this coat is originally intended to wear as a modern-fit (Not too slim or Not loose) with knee length for a more fashion-forward looks. This outerwear wool coat is suitable for fall or winter. This military coat is new original creations by Buzz Rickson from Toyo Enterprises.

This modified tailored cut is slimmer fit in the chest and armhole area as opposed to the wide cut found on any of the other vintage original spec for a more modern casual look and fashion purpose. Fabric : The fabric of this coat is Fabricated from a high-density, high-quality, unlined heavyweight melton-wool. Made with a blend of 90% wool and 10% nylon melton fabric. This melton wool is durable and retains warmth. The melton wool combines the durability and the natural softness for comfort to wear.

Types of garment closure (Placket type) : Front closure with three wooden toggle buttons and rope loops for easy functioning with gloves.

Cuff type : The two-step button tab adjustable cuffs let you change the size of the sleeve openings.

Hood : Integrated hood with press stud for adjustment. The left side hood-collar has a chin-strap with button-hole (a neck strap, a chin strap, a throat tab, a throat latch). And two concealed buttons underneath the right side hood-collar allow the throat latch to be buttoned across the neck to secure your neck from the cold weather as required.

Storage : Two external large patch pockets.

Yoke type : Square shoulder yoke (Shoulder Pads). A coat yoke is made from two layers of fabric for durability. Reinforced double-layers shoulder yoke for greater durability at at stress points. The shoulders feature a double layer of cloth which serves to both help repel water better and prevent premature wear of the shoulder areas due to carrying items on one's shoulder.

Other details : The panels joined by internal seams are piped on the inside with cotton taping for reinforcement.
