東洋エンタープライズ社(Toyo Enterprises)のTailor Toyo(テーラー東洋 テイラー東洋)ブランドのスカジャン(メンズ スーベニアジャケット)です。

スーベニアジャケット、通称「スカジャン」は戦後間もない頃、日本に駐留していたアメリカ軍兵士の記念品として、鷲・虎・龍などのオリエンタルな柄や、兵士の所属していた部隊などをジャケットに刺繍したのが始まりです。その発祥に関わったのが、東洋エンタープライズの前身である港商(港商商会)です。「テーラー東洋」は1940年代の港商から始まり、1965年に設立された東洋エンタープライズのスカジャンレーベルして、その歴史と経験を継承し続けています。

このスカジャンは中綿なしのリバーシブル仕様で、両面に刺繍で柄が配されています。

素材は表裏両面共にアセテート100%のサテン生地です。両面ともにシルクにような深みのあるマットな光沢感、ソフトな風合い、ドレープ感が特徴の生地です。そして、このスカジャンには当時の素材感を再現した生地が使用されています。生地には、織りムラ、シワ感などのビンテージ感が再現されています。この製品は、ビンテージスカジャンが持つ経年変化の魅力を再現して、ご購入時からヴィンテージさながらの風合いを楽しむことができるスカジャンに仕上げられています。

中綿は詰められていませんので、モコモコ感がなく、すっきりとした着用感になります。また、薄手のライトアウターですので、春先から秋口まで軽く羽織れ、年間を通して、幅広く着用できます。

衿と袖口と裾は、アクリル100%のダブルレイヤー(二重)のライン入りリブ生地で切り替えられています。

フロントはジップアップでの開閉式です。

リバーシブル表側・裏側ともにウエスト部には、三角形の補強生地が付いた両玉縁ポケットが設けられています。

三日月が浮かぶ夜空へ向かい、猛々しく咆哮する虎が描かれた1950年代中期の作品をモチーフにしたデザインです。スカジャン表面のこの虎は非常に人気の絵柄で、虎斑(とらふ)の縞模様や放射状に刺繍された毛並みの描写に卓越した技術が伺えます。背中だけでなく両胸も虎の刺繍で構成されたタイガースカジャンで、オリエンタルな書体の「JAPAN」の文字もヴィンテージでは珍しいとされています。リバーシブル面は黒を基調とした龍の絵柄です。針足を駆使し、刺繍の立体感で迫力ある龍の表情を描き出しています。ボディにはピンクのアセテート生地を使っていますが、ブラックの刺繍とのコントラストでジャケットの色味がまとまり、刺繍と合わせた配色のリブが全体のバランスを引き締めています。両面で大きく印象が異なるヴィンテージスカジャンの配色の妙を楽しめる1着に仕上げられています。

本製品は素材の特性上、非常にデリケートな製品です。生地部分は摩擦、滑脱に弱く、また、色落ち、色焼けによる変色が起きる素材です。刺繍部分は旧式の刺繍技法を用いて再現していますため、打ち込みが甘くデリケートなため、引っ掛かりには十分にご注意ください。手洗い、及び洗濯機のご使用は、型崩れ、色落ち、ほつれ、縮み等の原因となりますのでお避けくださいますようお願い申し上げます。
